Desert Backroads is a Tucson-based acoustic duo featuring Richard Westerlund on guitar and vocals and Julie Westerlund on violin. Blending classic outlaw country, Americana, and original Western ballads, Desert Backroads creates a distinctive sound they call Desert Country. With soulful storytelling, raw vocals, expressive guitar, and haunting fiddle melodies, the duo brings the spirit of the American West to life. Their music celebrates dusty trails, legendary outlaws, life’s journeys, and the timeless tradition of the singer-songwriter. Authentic, heartfelt, and unmistakably Western, Desert Backroads takes listeners on a musical journey down the roads less traveled.
