Rising from the COVID-laced wreckage of a former house rock and roll band at a local resort, two fools decided to try an unlikely collaboration of folk/Americana/rock guitar and Latin congas. The result was surprisingly captivating. Fool number one, conga aficionado Scott Payne came to Tucson from the dark, smoky Cuban clubs of Chicago, where he honed his Latin percussion skills. Fool number two is Brad Herbert, a long-time Tucsonan and alumnus of Uncommon Folk and other bands.
